Enjoy exists for, and because of its community. We have a very talented and valuable group of volunteers who assist at the gallery with a variety of projects. We're always looking for new and dedicated volunteers to help us out. Please feel free to contact us for more details about Volunteering at Enjoy.
Enjoy's Reading Room was designed by Andy Irving. Come by and peruse new publications and our library. You can also search for publications available at Enjoy by searching our Library database. The Reading Room also seamlessly incorporates the workspace of the Enjoy Team. Feel free to say hello and introduce yourself.
Publishing
Yona Lee - Tangential Structures
Launches Saturday, May 11, 2pm at Enjoy.
Alice Baxter - Sometime later. Edition of 60. RRP: $15
Sometime later explores an interest in how an art work can exist as myth or ritual. By delving into a very sited act, such as a pilgrimage to a monument, Baxter’s work investigates the function of our own investment into the notion of the ‘significant moment’. This new publication by Alice Baxter and Enjoy also features contributions from Ella Sutherland and Sophie Thorn. The book further extrapolates Baxter’s interest in the audience's interaction with the art object and provides information on the chemical processes that take place with the act of touching bronze. Printed on a risograph in Canterbury, the book carries with it the same appreciation of tactility that is evident in her recent exhibition at Enjoy.
Enquire about the publication.
Accompanying the exhibition of the same name, CONCENTRATE ON WHAT YOU ARE DOING is a publication produced by artists Lauren Redican and Annsuli Marias in partnership with Enjoy. The book echoes the playful and diagrammatic nature of the installation and corresponds to the billboard the artists commissioned to watch over Cuba St for the duration of their exhibition.
OVER UNDER AND AROUND is the second in Enjoy Gallery's series of 'occasional journals' that contribute in a timely way to current dialogue on contemporary arts practice.
Since 2006, Enjoy Gallery has commissioned writers to generate texts about exhibitions or programme events held at the gallery. These essays form the basis of Enjoy's extensive online archive of art texts.
Co-editors Rachel O'Neill and Thomasin Sleigh commissioned writers Roger Horrocks, Tim Corballis, Bopha Chhay, Miranda Parkes, Dan Arps, M&W, Maria Walls and Creon Upton to respond to this eclectic and energetic store of art writing. Designed by Spencer Levine. Get in touch to secure a copy. Copies are strictly limited.
